Grain + Tone: A Salon on The Art of Craft
Join us for a gathering that celebrates the art of craft with a master woodworker and musician.
November 13, 2025
The grain of wood, the tone of a song — each carries the imprint of care, patience, and attention.
Please join us on the evening of November 13, for a special Salon on the art of craft. We have the special honor of hearing from Kylle Sebree, a master woodworker and Chad Butler, musician from the band Switchfoot who will share how their crafts take shape, from rough beginnings to refined beauty.
Together we’ll explore how making with our hands and our ears opens space for meaning, joy, and connection. Join us for an evening of conversation and stories that celebrates the art of craft.

What is a Salon?
Parisian salons in the 17th and 18th centuries were an important place for the exchange of ideas and building of community.
The word salon first appeared in France in 1664 and derived from the Italian “salone,” the large reception hall of Italian mansions. Salone, was the augmentative form of sala which is commonly known in Spanish as the living room.
With that inspiration of a warm, comfortable and intimate space for connecting and sharing life, La Sala Gatherings was born.
What is La Sala Gatherings?
La Sala Gatherings is an intentional community that hosts salons, conferences, intimate retreats and dinner gatherings for deep thinking and big-hearted professionals to reflect and engage on vocation, arts, craft, and faith.
